General Rules to each promotion:
You will have to complete all the tasks that are written on the back
After you have gotten signed off on all of those tasks then you will need to get tested by your Platoon Sergeant, then your First Sergeant, then your Company Commanders, and finally the instructor
For this test all you will need to do is stand either at attention or at ease, and repeat their rank back to them as well as the question and its answer: for example, if the question is being asked by your First Sergeant and the question is “What is the rank of One stripe up?”, you would respond with “First Sergeant, the rank of One stripe up is Private”
You will also need a concurrence form from your teachers saying that you at least have a 75% in each class and you have a decent moral system
(Pink Worksheet)Alrighty you have been promoted to the rank of Private First Class or will be soon, time to get that second stipe on your epaulet!
The first task that you are assigned is the same as the previous worksheet which is to recertify which you will do when you are being tested by your Platoon Sergeant, then your First Sergeant, then your Company Commander, and then finally one of the Instructors
Next you will have to define leadership and its elements:
To define leadership, I would recommend do this the same way you memorizes the creed, which is to break it up into smaller parts and learns them individually and then combine them when you have them all memorized
For the elements you do not need to know the definitions word for word all you need to know is the main characteristics
For the BE values just remember they are the seven army values, these you can remember with L.D.R.S.H.I.P.
For the KNOW skills just remember I.C.T.T. or Interpersonal, Conceptual, Technical, and Tactical Skills
For the Do actions just remember P.P.E.A. or Planning, Preparing, Executing, and Assessing
Even though you do not need to know the definitions it would still be a good idea to read over them just to know the gist of what each element means
For open and Close ranks just think of inspection every Monday, (you already do this!)
For the fifth task which is to attend one out of school Battalion activity I would still recommend that you attend either a team practice or Keep Our Campus Clean after school for one hour each Friday
The next task that you are given is to properly instruct stationary drill I recommend that you reference the JROTC website which once you click under training videos it has an entire section for stationary drill which you can use as reference material on how to teach the drill
The same goes for the rank class
As for marching in a platoon just wait for the next drill day to occur which typically happens on every Tuesday and just ask if you can join a platoon and march with them and you will get it done
However, if you can not find the time during class to march in a platoon, you are always welcome to come to a drill practice hosted on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school and they always are marching in a platoon formation
Finally, all you have to do is ensure that all your forms are turned in, and once you get tested you can get promoted
